Dry lips and throat in Breastfeeding

Posted by Anonymous on - 1 reply

I am 2months pregnant and still feeding my first baby; he is one year old. Nowadays, at night, my lips and throat are more dry. Is it any problem? I am drinking more water also. First pregnancy I had GDM also.

Thank you for your email about feeling thirsty whilst pregnant and continuing to breastfeed your first baby. You also mentioned that you have Gestational Diabetes.

It's important not to ignore a thirsty cue as this is a late reminder that you need to drink some fluids. Excessive thirst if you have GDM or a history of it, see your healthcare provider as soon as possible as it may indicate poor diabetic control.

Hope that this is helpful.
