WellVine professionals are qualified and experienced doctors, who have been thoroughly vetted before joining the WellVine network. This includes experienced General Practitioners (GPs) as well as Paediatricians, as we see children’s health as our core focus. We also have a range of other health professionals such as nutritionists, lactation consultations and baby and toddler sleep counsellors, and our network is growing continuously.
Consultations start from as little as £30.

Healthcare Experience

Katherine is an experienced International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She believes that parents should be enabled and supported to breastfeed their babies if they choose to breastfeed, and enjoys being able to help parents to manage a range of breastfeeding issues. She has worked with families facing a number of challenging breastfeeding scenarios, and her gentle and supportive attitude has helped them through to successful breastfeeding. Her experience also includes helping babies with tongue-tie. Katherine offers parents a high quality, clinically sound, evidence-based, and friendly support for breastfeeding challenges.

Katherine is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with 20 years continuous registration; she was also an NCT Breastfeeding Counsellor for 20 years. She has extensive experience providing breastfeeding support and has particular expertise in low milk supply/oversupply; breast hypoplasia, weight gain issues in baby; breastfeeding after breast surgery; breast pain; induced lactation for adoptive mothers; use of supplemental feeding devices; breastfeeding twins and multiples; and management of reflux disorder in breastfed babies amongst a number of other areas. An additional area of strong clinical competency is in the assessment and treatment of ankyloglossia, in particular assessment of recurrent tongue tie and onward referral to a surgical specialist for revision.

Katherine is also the Team Leader of a large NHS Tongue Tie Service and has a private practice offering lactation consultancy and frenulotomy (removal of tongue tie). She attained extended competency in performing frenulotomy through her clinical training at both Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust and King’s College Hospital Foundation Trust. She is one of only three Lactation Consultants/Tongue Tie Practitioners in the UK to have been trained at both Trusts and is also a member of the IATP (International Association of Tongue tie Practitioner, and is fully insured to offer both lactation consulting services and frenulotomy.
