Julie is an experienced International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and is passionate about providing sympathetic, practical, holistic, research-based breastfeeding support. She understands that new mums need to feel empowered to cope with the challenging journey that breastfeeding may prove to be, in order to enjoy their special bond with their baby. Julie believes there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a mum blossom with confidence in her new role of nurturing her precious baby. She keeps herself updated on the latest breastfeeding research, so she can discuss useful new evidence to help resolve feeding issues; and to promote emotional and developmental growth of mum, baby and the whole family.
Julie is an experienced International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), having qualified in 2010. Julie is also an experienced and competent Tongue Tie Practitioner, having trained at Southampton General Hospital in 2013. She is currently working for the NHS and privately as a Tongue Tie Practitioner, providing tongue tie assessments and divisions. She works as a Lactation Consultant privately, as well in a voluntary capacity in breastfeeding clinics in the community.
Julie is also qualified as a midwife and a neonatal nurse. As a registered midwife in her career prior to becoming a Lactation Consultant, Julie worked for over 20 years with mums and babies. During this time she achieved the Higher Diploma in Midwifery Studies.
